Importing I GET IT 3DXML Models

Overview
Procedure for importing the 3DXML Model files into your database. 


Importing Training Files
Step 1:

This document will detail the procedure for importing the classwork files for a 3DXML file only.  



Step 2:

Select Import.



Step 3:

The Import window appears, set the Format to 3DXML with authoring(*.3dxml) in the drop down menu.


Step 4:

Next, set the Source to File on disk in the drop down menu.


Step 5:

In the Filename select the folder icon to look for the .3dxml file to open.

The Select a File window appears, find and select the desired file and then click Open. The file will appear in the Location and Filename boxes.


Step 6:

With in the Options drop down and under the General tab set the import option to As New.

Note: The Duplication string text will be added as a prefix to the imported data. It may be omitted, but the following warning will be displayed.

Select OK to open the file

Step 7:

The file will, more than likely, open into an Enovia Product Finder application. To create a drawing from the part file you will have to move it into Part Design application. Notice that the application name is highlighted in the upper left area of the screen, as shown in the image below.

An Operation report message window may appear indicating that the output object will have imported objects and let you know the result if importing is successful. Select OK to continue to open the file.


Step 8:

To open the file into Part Design application go to the Section Bar and select Navigation and in the Action Bar select Open, as shown in the image below.


Step 9:

The file will open into the Part Design application, from here you will able to create a drawing of it. Notice that the application has changed by the name in the upper left area of the screen, as shown in the image below.
